||Refurbishment and extension of a Maison de Maître
||Design, completion 2013
Renovation of a typical Brussels townhouse dated 1890 with altogether five storeys. Because the width of the house is only five meters and because the lower storeys are naturally rather badly illuminated, all not load bearing walls will be opened in order to archieve a maximal largesse and maximal natural lighting. The house is, compared to its direct neighbours, rather low and in the courtyard it is set back from a possible maximal building line. Therefore there is the possibility to extend and to top up the building which would enlarge the floor space up to 340 m2.
All facilities will be newly installed, plus all surfaces will be reworked or newly done. The facades will be renovated and new windows will be installed.
The architecture of the rear facade has not been decided yet.
