||Renovation and extension of a single-family house
||Design, completion 2014
The peculiarity of that house from the 1950s is that there are two functions in parallel under one roof: A small residence and a therefrom completely separated atelier of a sculptor with 5.40 m ceiling height.
The property borders on three sides unobstructable common forest land. The design provides a generous connection of the formerly autonomous atelier with the residence on the ground floor and its single-floored extension of 45 m2.
For this purpose the interior walls will be most widely opened in order to obtain a big open-plan living area of 140 m2 with different zones of usage. The attic will be moulded to a 60 m2 big bedroom with interjectional bathroom and cabinets. The overhang of the roof will be trimmed to the outline of the facades. The obligatory pitched roof receives a material in the same white colour as the facades. Thereby the structural shell merges to a purified but concise unity.
